Loading Sample Map To get started select load (A). From the Load Map File window (B), find the folder (C) Ozi tutorial. Load map *ALLLM010-logan... and click open. * all files associated with this tutorial are included on this CD or can be downloaded from our website.

Sample Map Loaded Your Map should be similar to this view. (A) Puts the software into waypoint creation mode. Notice the cursor (B) shows a crosshair with with the word waypoint. (B) Also shows the GPS location of the cursor. (C) Is a zoomed view of the cursor location for precise waypoint entry. (D) Is an overview thumbnail of the entire map. This is used mainly for extra large maps. |

Check Map Calibration Lets see how this software really works. Click "File" from the main menu and select "Check Calibration of MAP' (A) Points to the grid lines to assign to each calibration point. (B) Points to calibration point one assigned to the intersection of these two grid lines. (C) Is where the numbers are entered for each point. ddd.ddddd format for Long and Lat |

GPS
Configuration Select "File" and then "Configuration" from the main menu bar brings ups this multi tab window. Under the GPS tab the make and model can be set (A). Scroll through the tabs and their options. Click "Cancel" to discard any unwanted changes. |

Map
Configuration Under the "Maps" tab of the configuration menu (A) shows the format used for Lat/Long. Outdoor Contour prefers maps and data in the ddd.ddddd format. (B) Shows distance units selection. Other navigation selections below distance. |

GPS Communication Configuration The "COM" tab of the Configuration window has "General COM Settings" as shown by (A). (B) selects the Baud rate. If you have established PC to GPS communication through your manufactures software the, cables and settings used there should work here. Check units users guide for exact settings. |
